Munmun De Choudhury

J. Z. Liang Professor of Interactive Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology

Dr. Munmun De Choudhury is the J. Z. Liang Professor in the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Co-Lead of Patient-Centered Care Delivery at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center. Her research sits at the intersection of computational social science, human-computer interaction, and digital mental health, where she develops AI- and data-driven approaches to understand human behavior and improve early detection, intervention, and care for mental health challenges. Her work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the SIGCHI Societal Impact Award, multiple Test-of-Time Awards, induction into the SIGCHI Academy, and recognition as an ACM Distinguished Member. Beyond academia, she actively shapes policy and practice through advisory roles with organizations including the World Health Organization and OpenAI’s Well-Being Council, and has contributed to major public health initiatives such as the U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory on the Healing Effects of Social Connection.
