Zander Arnao Joins KGI as Policy Analyst
In July 2024 KGI welcomed Zander Arnao as KGI’s first Policy Analyst. At KGI, Arnao uses his expertise to synthesize research, create translational products for policymakers, and build bridges between researchers and those making decisions about information and technology.
The Knight-Georgetown Institute (KGI) is pleased to welcome Zander Arnao as its first Policy Analyst.
Arnao is an expert and emerging thought leader in several areas of tech policy, including privacy, competition policy, and child safety. At KGI, Arnao will use his expertise to synthesize research, create translational products for policymakers, and build bridges between researchers and those making decisions about information and technology.
Previously, Arnao was a Policy Analyst at the Center for Countering Digital Hate, where he helped communicate the realities of disinformation and hate speech online to policymakers. Arnao also served as a Public Interest Technology Fellow at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, assisting the Bureau of Consumer Protection with enforcement of federal truth-in-advertising law in adtech.
Arnao has published on topics in tech policy for a variety of outlets, including Tech Policy Press and the Brookings Institution’s TechTank. He received his Master’s Degree in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies, both from the University of Chicago.
